Violet Evergarden
The story revolves around Auto Memory Dolls (自動手記人形 Jidō Shuki Ningyō): dolls initially created by a scientist named Dr. Orland to assist his blind wife Mollie in writing her novels, and later rented out to other people who needed their services. In the present time, the term referring to industry of writing for others. While the initial function of Auto Memory Dolls is only to generate voices into text, a second group of people created a company that “rented out” beautiful talented women who, while having the same function as the original Auto Memory Dolls, also can perform military-related tasks.
自动手记人偶，是奥兰多博士所制造，能将人类的话语记下并书写的机械。当初，此种机械是奥兰多博士为其身为小说家的爱妻所制。时至今日广泛普及于世上，并出现能提供租借人偶的机构。此外，也有一群像人偶一样，从事替人书写工作的代笔者，也被称为“自动手记人偶”。
因战争而失去双手，后来装上了义肢的少女──女主角薇尔莉特·伊芙加登，正是一名属于C·H邮政社的金发蓝瞳自动手记人偶少女。为了能够理解在战场上重要之人所传达的话语，她去往不同的地方，踏上一段寻找何谓“爱”的旅程，为不同的委托人工作，将对方的思念化作一封封的信件，将重要之言传递出去。
