For eighteen generations, samurai of the Shiba House (志葉家, Shiba Ke) have suppressed the evil intentions of the Gedoushu, malevolent spirits that enter the world of the living from gaps between buildings and other structures.

 

Now, Takeru Shiba, the youngest head of the Shiba Clan must gather his four vassals (家臣, kashin) in order to battle the Gedoushu under the revived Doukoku Chimatsuri as the Shinkengers.

 

However, as they are joined by his childhood friend Genta, the vassals slowly learn that there’s a reason for Takeru’s behavior that sets him apart from his predecessors.

 

來自冥河的外道眾出現人間，對人類產生危害。打著「主公」名號的影武者志葉丈瑠將志葉家的家臣池波流之介、白石茉子、谷千明、花織琴羽集合在一起，為保護人類，以及阻止外道眾的破壞。

 

這五名侍衛各自擁有自己專屬的折神，並且一路上找回了獨角仙、舵木（旗魚）、虎三個折神。之後丈瑠的朋友梅盛源太也加入他們的行列。此外侍戰隊也遭遇來自假面騎士世界的拜訪，此外，故事後半段少年榊原弘將家傳的牛折神送給丈瑠。
